The translator now handles XLIFF, InDesign, HTML, XML, OpenDocument and subtitles
Besides Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the document translator now translates XLIFF from Trados and memoQ, InDesign IDML, HTML, XML, OpenDocument, plain text and subtitles. Claude Haiku 5.5 joins the model list, plus security updates.
- XLIFF 1.2 and 2.0 (.xlf, .xliff, .sdlxliff from Trados, .mqxliff from memoQ): the translation goes into the target segments, inline codes stay in place and segments that are already translated can be kept.
- InDesign (.idml): texts are translated including master pages, and bold and italics carry over.
- HTML and XML: the structure stays unchanged, you can exclude selected elements and optionally translate attribute labels (alt, title) too.
- OpenDocument (.odt, .ods, .odp), plain text (.txt) and subtitles (.srt, .vtt) with their original timings.
- Line breaks, images and fields inside sentences stay in place in the translated file.
- New model: Claude Haiku 5.5 — the fastest and cheapest choice for simpler texts.
- Security updates to the site's libraries, and cancelled subscriptions now show correctly on the My account page.
